10 Strange Monopoly Boards You Didn't Know Existed
75
Did you know that there is over 100 officially licensed Monopoly board games? Over 100! For a game that you see the same types of all the time, that sure seems like a lot. We often see the standard board game, and maybe even the Here and Now edition on the shelves at the toy stores. Spongebob and Disney Monopoly boards are pretty well renown, too. But there's a ton that you wouldn't believe exist! Here's a list of ten of them weirdest, oddest, and least expected Monopoly games out there!
US Army Monopoly
Surprisingly, this isn't the only armed forces Monopoly board out there -- there's one for each branch of the US military! Either way, this was the first one I stumbled across out of the bunch, so I figured it deserved it's spot in the list.
John Deere Monopoly
Personally, I thought this one was actually sort of cool, but it's still pretty strange none the less. For game tokens you've got tractors and plows, and for properties you're buying, selling and trading... also, tractors and plows.
UPS Monopoly
No, seriously. I'm not joking. There's an actual UPS (United Postal Service) Monopoly game! Who would have thought? I couldn't imagine what on earth the properties would consist of, but I do know the game tokens are of UPS shipping vehicles, such as a truck and a plane.
Lionel Trains Monopoly
This is a definite collectors item, especially for the train collector and lover. I haven't seen the board myself yet (but hopefully some day I will), though I do know the game tokens are trains, of course.
Trump Monopoly
It shouldn't really come as such a shock to find out that Donald Trump has wormed his way into the world of board games... not when he's already dabbled with Trump Chocolates, Trump Tea, and even Trump Water. The standard houses are replaced with Trump Tower houses and properties are outfitted with Trump Hotels... can he be any more full of himself?
QVC Monopoly
As if it's not hard enough to not purchase the stuff you see on the show on a whim, they had to go ahead and tempt you in the form of a board game! The standard houses and hotels are replaced with Green Rooms and Studios, and the properties are, you guessed it, products shown on the QVC channel. Watch out, you might land on the Joan Rivers Collection and be compelled to buy it!
National Parks Monopoly
Buy, sell, and trade the most visited National Parks, such as Acadia (Maine) and Yosemite (California). The really cool thing about this though, is that whenever a board in purchased, a portion is donated to the National Parks Foundation.
John Wayne Monopoly
For all those old school cowboy movie lovers and hardcore John Wayne fans, there's a Monopoly game for you! The game tokens consist of items such as a cowboys hat and Duke the dog, and the properties are outfitted with memorable moments from his life and career.
American Express Monopoly
I don't know about you, but this one is pretty ironic to me... for a board game to have the theme of the American Express credit card business, it's played with paper money.
ZAPPOS Monopoly
...what?

Interesting article! I didn't know they had so many variations.
We have one based on "Lord of the Rings." It's pretty cool, same game basically but they just changed the locales to that found in the Tolkien universe. I've seen other versions but the ones you featured here are new to me but not surprising. it is a popular game and these variations make it all the more appealing. Nice hub by the way and interesting stuff.

Wow what a shocker, I had no idea that these existed, but it is possible when it comes to board games.
