Monopoly has got to be one of the oldest boardgames around, and also one of the most played. There’s tons of different themed Monopoly boardgames that many people don’t know about, so here is a list of some of the coolest ones out there!

Monopoly The.com Edition
Amazon Price: $10.00

Monopoly: The .Com Edition

This is definitely a Monopoly board suited for our times -- instead of the usual locations, they’re replaced with 30 of some of the biggest websites on the net, such as eBay, Yahoo, Cnet, CBS, and tons more. The only thing that I can complain about is the ironic fact that while it’s based on e-commerce, it has paper money and not credit cards. I’d still definitely love to add this to my collection, though!

Monopoly Beatles
Amazon Price: $33.99
List Price: $39.99

Beatles Monopoly

Everyone has heard of the Beatles before, but does everyone know that they’ve got their own Monopoly game? This is definitely a really cool Monopoly rendition, and as an owner of a Beatles Monopoly board myself, I can totally vouch for it. The game comes with tokens that represent some of their songs (sun, raccoon, walrus, and others) and you get to even claim their albums as properties. Great game!

Monopoly The Nightmare Before Xmas
Amazon Price: $25.95
List Price: $39.99

Nightmare Before Christmas Monopoly

I was pretty stoked when I found out that they had made a Nightmare Before Christmas Monopoly board because I absolutely love the movie. The board features film photography as collectible properties and the tokens are pewter characters from the film. This would be an awesome addition to someones yearly tradition of watching the film every Halloween or Christmas... watch the film, then play the game!

Monopoly Dinosaur
Amazon Price: $29.12
List Price: $34.99

Dinosaur Monopoly

This would be a great gift for little boys or someone (regardless of gender) who just loves dinosaurs! Play your way through the game while collecting and trading dinosaurs as properties, such as the velociraptor, stegosaurus, and more.

Pokemon Monopoly
Amazon Price: $79.98

Pokemon Monopoly Board

As a 90s kid myself who used to pretend (and actually think) that I had pokemon in my bedroom, I had to order this Monopoly game ASAP. Each collectible space on the board has pokemon instead of locations, and you can also collect training gyms. The playing tokens are little pokemon characters, too!

Monopoly The Muppets
Amazon Price: $29.99
List Price: $34.99

Muppets Monopoly

I’m not even really fan of the Muppets, but this Monopoly board makes me want to be a fan! The colors are really bright and fun, the game tokens are lovable characters from the show, and the property spaces are absolutely cute! If you’re looking to get a Monopoly board for a young child, this would definitely spark their interest.

Monopoly The Office
Amazon Price: $16.74
List Price: $34.99

The Office Monopoly

Anyone who's a fan of NBC's hit show The Office needs to have this in their game closet! It's an absolute must, no excuses! The money, called "Schrute Bucks", has hilarious quotes from Dwight printed on them, and the properties are outfitted with places like Michael’s Condo, Dunder Mifflin HQ, and even Dwight’s Beet Farm! Even the tokens are amazing, being chosen by fans of the show themselves.

Monopoly Nintendo
Amazon Price: $24.99
List Price: $34.99

Nintendo Monopoly

The Nintendo Monopoly game is tons of fun and a definite must have for those of us who’s game cabinets were stuffed with Nintendo games. With pewter tokens such as the Mario power star, Zelda’s sword, and others, it’s so fun! The properties are replaced with Nintendo characters, such as Mario, Donkey Kong, and a ton of others. This is certainly a collectors item!

Futurama Monopoly Board Game: Futurama Monopoly
Amazon Price: $32.42
List Price: $39.95

Futurama Monopoly

There’s usually a bit of a squabble between Futurama and Simpsons fans about which is better. Does it really matter? They’ve both got their own Monopoly games! This Monopoly board game is one of the newest ones (at the time of writing this in late 2011), and I can tell you that I couldn’t wait for this to be released! You get to collect and trade properties such as Wong Ranch, Sewer City, Mars Vegas, and tons more. For those hardcore Futurama fans out there, this will hold you over until the show’s return in 2012.

Monopoly Elvis 75th Anniversary
Amazon Price: $28.99
List Price: $34.99

Elvis Monopoly

Personally, I never got what was such a big deal about Elvis, but none the less, it seems as if everyone collects Elvis-themed products, so I wasn’t too surprised when I found out that there was even a Monopoly game made after the man. Either way, I was surprised that it wasn’t more known about, so I thought it’d be a great addition to this article. The tokens include his guitar, jacket, sunglasses, and more, and the properties feature events from his musical career.

Klingon Monopoly Boad Game: Klingon Monopoly
Amazon Price: $32.74
List Price: $39.95

Klingon Monopoly

My mouth dropped when I stumbled upon this one. It’s one thing to have a Star Trek Monopoly board (which yes, is out there), but it’s a totally different thing when there’s an actual Klingon Monopoly board! I mean, the board is actually written in Klingon! Oh my God! I really wish I could tell you more about it, but unfortunately, I don’t read Klingon... but boy do I sure wish I did.

M&M's Monopoly
Amazon Price: $35.00
List Price: $39.90

M&M's Monopoly

It was actually pretty tough to find this board, and I came across it on accident due to my mother’s intense (and odd) love of collecting M&M stuff. She actually had it, still wrapped in plastic, hidden away in the back of her closet. She wouldn’t let me open it to check it out (it’s a collectors edition that she was really not interested in losing the value of), but just seeing it made me want a chocolate bar.

Monopoly Coca-Cola
Amazon Price: $19.89
List Price: $34.99

Coca Cola Monopoly

My favorite drink in the whole world is Coca Cola, so when I found this Monopoly board, I was pretty stoked. For properties, the board is outfitted with coca-cola themed products that you can buy, sell and trade, and the tokens include a coke glass, a polar bear, a coke truck, and more. It’s a wonderful collectors item that would probably be best saved and not played -- It might be worth money some day!

Marvel Comics Monopoly

Everyone loves comic books! Alright, almost everyone. For those of us Marvel Comics lovers, this Marvel Comics Monopoly board is a must have! While this would probably be best to just be collected and not played, I couldn’t handle myself from tearing the plastic off of this game -- it’s just too awesome! Go through the game buying, selling, and trading iconic Marvel comics and even play as some of your favorite Marvel superheroes such as Captain America, Hulk, and more!

This list has barely made a dent in the world of Monopoly boards. There a so many of them, and a lot of other really cool ones that weren’t mentioned in here (such as the Three Stooges one). If you’re a fan of the game, then I urge you to do a search for them! You might be surprised at what Monopoly board games you might come across.

Absolutely brilliant! I think I'd be happy with any of those Monopoly boards, although I don't know Klingon either so may struggle a little with that one.

I actually bought a Limited Edition Doctor Who Monopoly set this year, although I did open because it just had to be played!

I may have to have a look out for the Star Trek one though (one that's in English in any case), thank you!

Whaaaat, there's a Doctor Who Monopoly board? That's just nuts, I can't believe I didn't come across it! Thanks for the tip. Gotta collect all those boards :P

Yeah, the Star Trek one is (thankfully) in English. There's a limited edition version, if I remember correctly.

Now if they came out with a Big Bang Theory Monopoly board, or Lion King Monopoly board, then I can die happily.

You're very welcome! There's well over 200 Monopoly boards (and I'm talking actual REAL ones, none of that knock off -opoly junk!). It's pretty crazy... I might make another article about some of the weirdest ones I've found so far!

Yeah, I think there were only 5000 Doctor Who Monopoly sets released, I ordered it in February ready for it's release in August. There might still be some, I don't know. I'll find out who I ordered it from as I can't remember off the top of my head.

I don't know about a Big Bang Theory Monopoly board, but I do know about their shower curtain, as pictured in my house:

I checked Amazon for the Dr. Who Monopoly board and found it -- I really couldn't believe it existed! Haha. I also stumbled across some seriously strange ones while doing so (UPS and American Express Monopoly? Horse Lover's Monopoly? Seriously?).

As for the shower curtain, that is pure amazing. Nerdiness at it's best, and i've gotta say, I'm pretty jealous. I don't think I'd be able to have it in my own bathroom because I've got my eye on a map of the world shower curtain. I'll def. get the periodic table in poster form, though! B)

Neat stuff. I have a New York Yankees Monopoly set, in fact my wife just crushed me in a game of it a few weeks ago. I probably should've kept it sealed in the box as a collector's item but what the heck, I'd rather have fun with it.
